AIRO26: update your app and get ready for 24 October

Get ready for AIRO26 on Saturday 24 October: update the Row Nation app, then read the rules before your first event row.

Get ready before Saturday

AIRO26 opens at 00:00 AEDT on Saturday 24 October 2026. Before Saturday, update the Row Nation app, link your AIRO26 entry with your competitor code, and read the AIRO26 rules.

The latest Row Nation app update is rolling out now. It brings the AIRO26 race hub into the app, where you can link your entry with your competitor code and find your race cards. It adds a live race display for relay crews.

From Saturday you’ll be able to race AIRO26 fully within the app. Once your entry is linked, open a race card, connect your PM5 and choose “Row this”. Row, then save your result to send it to the event. You’ll be able to check the leaderboard from that race card too.

An app update is a poor thing to discover with your feet already strapped in.

What’s in the update

In the latest update:

  • AIRO26 race hub: Find your race cards and progress together after linking your entry.
  • Live race display: See the key race number and progress while you row, including relay legs.
  • Leaderboard links: Open the relevant event board from a race card inside the app.
  • Workout displays and setup: Read workout and rest figures in either orientation, with an interval-count option for workouts where you choose when each rest ends.
  • Workout save protection: See unsent workouts and retry status, with a prompt before leaving an unsaved row.
  • Connection and support help: Get clearer PM5 guidance and messages when loading or playback fails.

Leaderboards and share cards

From Saturday you’ll be able to follow your place through “Leaderboard” on each race card in the app. On the web, follow race results, school and club standings or relay results. The boards will fill as results are published.

On the web race results, the sharing options are “Share”, “Copy link” and “Download card”. From Saturday, you’ll be able to share a link to your result or download your card there as results are published.

Your first row is not your only row

It’s easy to treat an event row like a single shot. You wait for the right day, the right sleep, the right warm-up. Then the right day doesn’t come, and the row keeps sliding down the week.

AIRO26 doesn’t ask for one perfect row. Attempts may be repeated. Your best valid result will count on the leaderboard. Legitimate repeats will add to Total Metres too.

That changes how you treat Saturday. It doesn’t have to be the row. It can be the first measurement, the one that shows you where the next one can improve.

Entering as a lightweight? One approved weigh-in covers all your attempts. You weigh in once, not before every row.

Nine days on your clock

The window runs from 00:00 AEDT on Saturday 24 October to 11:59 pm AEDT on Sunday 1 November 2026. That second time is when rowing and result submissions close. Row on any Concept2 RowErg, anywhere, whenever it suits you.

Rowing from outside eastern Australia? Convert both times to your own clock now, while it’s a calm sum and not a Sunday-night scramble.

Read the rules before the row

The rules page carries everything this note leaves out: the events, the categories, verification, and how each submission route will work as it opens. Age is taken as at 31 December 2026, not on the day you row, so check your band before Saturday. Still deciding whether to enter? Entry is covered there too.

A rules question is easy to answer on the couch. It’s much harder halfway through a 2K.
